Papers & Presentations

Manuscript Submission

Full manuscript papers for all accepted oral and poster presentations must be submitted by NOVEMBER 1, 2012. All presentations will be subject to peer review, and the scientific committee reserves the right to withdraw presented papers from the publications in the conference proceedings in accordance with ICRAV bylaws. Guidelines for abstracts and manuscripts are shown below.

Abstract Submission

The deadline for abstract submission is JULY 1, 2012.

Abstract Format:
1. Please state your preference for an oral or poster presentation. The committee has the option of altering the presentation format.

2. Microsoft Word format

3. Three-hundred (300) words maximum
*Please note: If you plan to submit your abstract to a scientific journal, the abstract should not exceed 250 words.

4. All presentations must be written in English

5. Abstracts should include only text i.e., may not contain diagrams, figures, pictures, tables or charts.

6. Font should be Times New Roman, no smaller than size 12.

7. The abstract should contain the title, degrees, name of author(s) – all correspondences will be directed to the lead author, who should be underlined – address(s) of the research facility, and key words. This information is excluded from the 250 word maximum.

8. Authors should include up to five key words.

9. The use of standard abbreviations is encouraged. Please place special or unusual abbreviations in parentheses when the full word is used for the first time.

10. The abstract should be organized as follows:

a. purpose and relevance of the study
b. a brief description of methods, if pertinent
c. a summary of results
d. a statement of conclusions reached

11. Lead author information. The lead author should provide full organizational or academic affiliation, title, address, and e-mail. This should be added to the bottom of the abstract page. This information will be included in the lead author index section. Abstract title, names, affiliations, and author information are excluded from the abstract word totals.

ICRAV Young Scientist Award

To qualify for the ICRAV Young Scientist Award, the presenter must be 40 years old or younger at the time of presenting. The award is presented to the winners’ Laboratory/Institute to contribute towards sending the same or another young scientist to the next conference on the condition that the scientist presents. Please indicate when submitting manuscripts or abstracts if the presenter is eligible.

Oral Presentation Format

Microsoft PowerPoint will be the only computer presentation format accepted. Presentations should be provided to the conference speaker desk by 5:00 PM on the day prior to presentation. Please use a CD ROM or USB data-stick.
The following facilities will be provided:

1. Speaker preview room
2. Presentation computer
3. Data projector
4. Projection screen
5. Laser pointer
6. Speaker audio – lapel microphone, podium microphone, computer audio
7. Fixed microphones for questions from the audience

Poster Format

Posters accepted by the scientific committee displayed at the conference should be no larger than 120 cm by 120 cm (48 inches by 48 inches). Surface will be poster board, fasteners will be provided.

Manuscript Format
Manuscripts in the area of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics or general veterinary topics should use the general format of the Journal of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics.

Manuscripts in the area of chemistry, drug metabolism, analytical methods and forensic and chemistry topics should use the general format of Journal of Mass Spectrometry.
